The Fort Plain Museum Presents: Talk on Clarissa Putman-Life vs Legend given by Pete Betz
Longtime historian of the area and President of Montgomery County Historical Society, Curator Dorn Regional History Collection at FMCC.
Clarissa Putman, remembered by most local history hobbyists only as the colonial era mistress of Sir John Johnson, lived more than fifty years beyond the turbulent Mohawk Valley Revolutionary era, establishing herself post-war in Schenectady and thus her life is far better documented than many of the associates of her youth. Due to modern digital source access, this lecture is entitled, “Clarissa Putman – Life versus Legend.”
Join us at the Fort Plain Museum on Saturday November 15th at 1P.M. Downstairs as for this lecture.
