2026 Winter Carnival with the City of Johnstown

Join us Saturday, March 7th at the Recreation Park on the corner of Briggs Street & Jansen Avenue for some LOCAL, FREE, WINTER FUN, right here in the City of Johnstown, New York!

Welcome Bonfire — Kick off the 2026 Winter Carnival at noon and warm up anytime during the event.

Ice Skating — Our new rink is waiting for it's time to shine! Note: Please plan to bring your own equipment for ice skating.

Sledding Hill — Who doesn't like sledding down a big pile of snow!?! We will have a handful of donated sleds but feel free to bring your own if you have them.

Outdoor Games — Show us your aim with Snowball-Can-Smash and Garbage-Pail-Pong — just to name a few!

Snow Sculpture Gardens — Come down early and build a snow sculpture — this tradition started over 50 years ago and we’re bringing it back!

We’re hoping for a nice upstate NY winter day with fresh snow , bluebird skies and lots of sunshine — Bring the family down or have the kids meet up with their friends and enjoy fresh air and good old’ fashion FREE outdoor fun — right here in the City of Johnstown, New York!
