Swim Basics Water Acclimation Stage 1 School Age (5-8) at Fulton county YMCA

Stage 1: Water Acclimation is the starting point for young swimmers to build comfort and confidence in the water.

In this stage, children learn foundational skills such as blowing bubbles, submerging their face, floating with support, and safely entering and exiting the pool. They are gently introduced to movement in the water through guided activities that build trust, body awareness, and basic safety skills.

This level is perfect for beginners or swimmers who are still becoming comfortable putting their face in the water and moving independently.
