Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team at River Ridge Nursing in Amsterdam, NY. Our facility has 120 beds. The ADON plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Nursing by managing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding the highest standards of resident care.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New York with strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a passion for long-term care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing nursing services to ensure quality care for all residents.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to promote professional growth and maintain high standards of practice.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and care plans in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and manage staff assignments effectively.
- Monitor resident care delivery and participate in the development of care plans and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Current, active RN license in the State of New York (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- In-depth knowledge of NYS Department of Health regulations, infection control practices, and nursing home compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
